This is a well established “must attend” event - tractors of all types are on display, from big to small, rare to unusual and antique. New for 2008 is the classic commercial vehicle and vans display, which is tipped to be the highlight of this year’s event.

Leading tractor manufacturers will be displaying their latest models for visitors to see up close. Other highlights of the weekend include the 50 years of Massey Ferguson Feature, a massive selection of auto jumble, and traders selling specialist tractor parts, commercial spares and collectable toy models.  Also displays from the Ford and Fordson Association.

HOMOEOPATHY AT WELLIE LEVEL.

THE RESPONSIBLE USE OF HOMOEOPATHY ON THE FARM.
DESIGNED ESPECIALLY FOR THE FARMER

The only course designed especially for farmers who want to learn about animal homoeopathy, takes place on three separate days spread over 6 weeks to allow time for students to try using remedies on their own animals.

Duchy Home Farm, Tetbury, Abbey Home Farm, Cirencester and the Royal Agricultural College, have all volunteered their farms as study centers. Finding teachers has been difficult as there are only about 12 homoeopathically qualified vets who work with farm animals, but the course organizer, Chris Lees, has found several who are willing to be part of the teaching team and form a nucleus of support for farmers struggling with this new subject. Additionally Chris has managed to find 2 homoeopaths with farm experience; one is also a pharmacist farmer’s wife, and the other a specialist in adult education who runs a college of homoeopathy in Salisbury.

SOME COMMENTS FROM STUDENTS ON THE FIRST COURSE

  • Thanks to you all for a fantastic 3-day course. 10 years of dabbling and numerous day courses where one had "heard it all before", and which were crammed with so many remedies, the repertory approach and constitutional side of it all was a refreshing change.
  • An excellent course, everything came together on the third day. It’s nice to know that how I’ve always studied my animals will stand me in good stead for practicing homoeopathy. I must send my husband on the next course.
  • Thanks for the course. It has got me started and I will continue with it.

Farmers and stockpersons interested in being on the next course should contact Chris Lees, or Chris Aukland MRCVS., as soon as possible as there will only be 20 places. The cost of the next course is £325.00 for the three learning days, (10.00 am – 4.30pm), and includes tuition, telephone support, course notes, audio tapes

The Next HAWL three day course -
September 16th, October 7th and November 4th.

This course is open to all!

Students will be given a basic understanding of the principles, and clear instruction on how to treat appropriately on the farm, and when to call the vet. The aim is to help the farmer or stock person feel competent and confident in treating his own animals homoeopathically.
Homoeopathy is not a cure all, but an additional skill, and an appropriate one for any farmer. It is useful to both conventional and organic farmers, adding another tool in the management strategy. Carefully applied, homoeopathy will offer first aid and emergency as well as routine treatment, improve overall heard health and reduce antibiotic usage,

Homoeopathic remedies have to be used appropriately; they are not sold for specific illnesses. As the success of homoeopathic treatment depends entirely on the skill of the proscriber, this course will certainly help to make homoeopathy work better on the farm.
