Brucellosis - Prevent it!

March 2004 - Contrary to the UK Government's presently held belief there is a vaccine available to prevent the Bucellosis disease and it is possible to distinguish between animals that are vaccinated and those that are infected.

Brucellosis was a fact of life in the 1970s and 1980s, but the vaccine called S19 was used which controlled it.

Since then, a better vaccine has been developed, the RB51, which is the official, approved method of controlling Burcellosis in the United States. The vaccine can be safely administered to cattle regardless of their pregnancy state.

The RB51 vaccine was licensed by the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) in 1996.

More information can be found on the following web sites - Just click on their names to visit their relevant pages on the RB51 Brucellosis vaccine.
